The Eunos Roadster (Mazda MX-5). This popular two seater is now a common sight in it's Japanese form on the roads of the UK. Badged as a Eunos Roadstar in Japan the specification and body is basically the same as the standard UK model. These cars are primarily popular with young drivers in Japan and hence many used cars have had small modifications made such as big bore mufflers, roll bars and body kits. |

| Manual examples are the domain of the young racer so are generally well maintained as the car will have been someone's pride and joy as well as their hobby. Automatic examples are generally driven by young ladies and are a very safe bet on the used market. Since the launch of the new model, used prices for the old model (with the pop up lights) have fallen slightly, the new model is rarely seen on the used market and consequently prices are still high. | |

The Mitsubushi Pajero and the Toyota Landcruiser are very popular models in Japan and represent a strong investment opportunity. The 4x4 is probably the most popular export from Japan. 4x4's here come with very high specification. The cars are expensive new and are therefore purchased by people who can afford to and do maintain the cars scrupulously. The Supra has not been imported outside of Japan in large numbers since the new model was introduced in 1994. The new shape Supra is a very good looking sports car with a great 3 litre engine (in twin turbo or normally aspirated versions) and a superb reliability record this is probably one of the easiest true sports cars in the world to run. |

| Prices have been falling steadily and inexpensive good examples can now be found very easily. | This category is opening up more and more in recent years as these cars gain acclaim on foreign shores. Many of the cars in this category are only supplied to the domestic Japanese market but remain in great demand as imports overseas. The two most popular cars are the Nissan Sunny (Pulsar) Gti-R and the Toyota Starlet GT Turbo. |
